The Hansard

THE HANSARD - A MIRROR OF PARLIAMENT The Hansard is the Official Report of proceedings of Parliament. it is as nearly as possible verbatim. Hansard was adopted as the name of the Official Reports of Commonwealth Parliaments from the name of Thomas Curzon Hansard who became the compiler of the Parliamentary Report of the House of Commons from the year 1812. There is a department of Official Reports of the Parliamentary Service, headed by an Editor, that is responsible for the production of the Hansard. The are two types of Hansard - the Daily Hansard and the Bound volumes. The Daily Hansard contains the proceedings of each sitting of Parliament. The bound volume consists of all Daily Hansards produced during each meeting.
