Pakistan High Commissioner Calls on Speaker of Parliament to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

The High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Ghana, H.E. Naheeb Durrani, has paid a courtesy call on the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament to deepen the longstanding friendship between the two nations. The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in key sectors, including culture, food security, and health. During the meeting, the High Commissioner extended a formal invitation to the Speaker, Members of Parliament, and the Pakistan Friendship Association to visit Pakistan, underscoring the mutual desire to foster closer people-to-people connections. His welcoming remarks, The Rt Hon Speaker traced the rich history of parliamentary relations between Ghana and Pakistan, dating back to a period when Ghana sent officers to the Pakistan Parliament to understudy their legislative processes. Today, that foundational relationship has evolved into active cooperation in legislative drafting and parliamentary oversight. Both parties acknowledged the importance of these institutional links, which continue to serve as a bedrock for exchanging ideas and best practices in governance. Looking ahead, the Parliament of Ghana expressed a strong commitment to working with Pakistan in transformative areas such as technology, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and healthcare delivery. The discussions highlighted the immense potential for cooperation in artificial intelligence, fintech, and the broader innovation ecosystem. It was agreed that these strategic partnerships would enure to the mutual benefit of both countries, paving the way for shared growth and development in the years to come.
