The Ministry of Defence has presented its estimates and policy objectives for the year 2026 to the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Interior for consideration.
The Acting Minister of Defence, Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson stated that there has been a substantial increase in the 2026 budget allocation to the Ministry as compared to previous years.
He also emphasised the urgent need for the Armed Forces to acquire a functional helicopter hence the need for the approval of the estimates.
The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. James Agalga, assured the Ministry of the Committee’s unwavering support, adding that the defence sector should be given the utmost priority and treated accordingly.
The House has since laid the report of the Committee for distribution and debate before approval of the estimates.
