The Black Queens were celebrated in Parliament today following their impressive third-place finish at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
During their official visit to the House, The Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon Kofi Adams, addressed the House, delivering a statement to formally congratulate the team on their remarkable achievement and commending them for lifting the flag of Ghana high on the continental stage.
The Minority Leader, Hon Alexander Afenyo-Markin, with the Minority caucus also presented a GHS 100,000 cash gift to the team in recognition of their outstanding performance and national pride.
The Members of Parliament in their congratulatory messages reiterated the necessity for a tangible national investment fund for the team and the country’s sports at large.
