FINALISTS IN HO WEST BASIC SCHOOLS’ QUIZ COMPETITION ENGAGE PARLIAMENTARIANS

Finalists of the 10th Basic Schools’ Annual Quiz Competition (BaSAQ-C) in Ho West Constituency, visited Parliament today, engaging directly with Members of Parliament as part of an educational tour aimed at enhancing civic understanding.


The Member of Parliament for Ho West, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, whose educational initiative has boosted the confidence and skills of students in his constituency, stated that this marks the 10th edition of the annual program he organizes.


Interacting with the students, Hon. Joycelyn Quashie, MP for North Dayi, briefed them on the roles and responsibilities of MPs, emphasising the importance of representation, lawmaking, and advocacy in national development. Hon. Jean-Marie Formadi, MP for Biakoye, guided students through the legislative process using the Bill Cycle. Hon. Charles Akwasi Agbeve, MP for Agotime-Ziope, highlighted how citizens, particularly youths, can participate in parliamentary governance through petitions, civic campaigns, and public forums. Also present was Hon. Isaac Boamah-Nyarko, MP for Effia, who exposed the group to different aspects of legislative work.


The four finalist schools are Holuta Aflakpe D/A Basic, Anfoeta Tsebi D/A JHS, Tsito Old and King of Kings Basic Schools.


The visit included a tour of the Chamber, where the students observed live parliamentary proceedings.
