DENSU BRIDGE PROJECT COMPLETED
The Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing Hon. Albert Abongo, has informed Parliament that Works on the Densu River Bridge has been completed since 2009 and the road is currently in good condition. The condition of the bridge became poor due to the loss of parts of the decking and some bolts and nuts.
Hon. Abongo was responding to a question filed by the MP for Trobu- Amasaman, Hon. Ernest Attuquaye Armah who sought to know when the metal bridge on the Densu River between Ashalaja and Ayekai Doblo in the Greater Accra Region will be repaired to make it useable.
Water Resources, Works and Housing Minister also answered another question from the Trobu-Amasaman MP who, again wanted to know when the road works from Amasaman to Obom will begin.
Hon. Albert Abongo explained that the Amasaman-Abehenease feeder road project forms part of the contract for the surfacing of Amasaman –Abehenease-Odukponkpehe feeder phase 1 (km 0-6.9) which was awarded in April 2007 for completion by June 2008 at a contract price of GHc746,652.
The project however, was terminated due to non-performance by the contractor in September 2009.
The Minister nonetheless, assured his colleague that the construction of the section from Abehenease to Obom feeder road including the outstanding works on the Abehenease feeder road will commence this year under the Transport Sector Project.
